1990-1995

The team continued with the International Cup triumph by winning against Benfica 1-0 , then won the third International Cup in a row and third overall after defeating Olimpia Asuncion in 1990. The team members in that time were : Giovanni Galli, Alessandro Costacurta , Mauro Tassoti , Paolo Maldini , Franco Baresi , Angelo Colombo , Carlo Ancelotti , Roberto Donadoni , Ruud Gullit , Marco van Basten. In this period the team was called “The Immortals” or as Italian used to say “Gli Immortali”.

Then Sacchi was called to coach the Italy national team . Fabio Capello took his place  , the Red&Black team kept being successful and took a new nickname “The invincibles” or as Italian used to say "Gli Invicibili"

. After the success of 58-match with no defeats , Franco Baresi , Alessandro Costacurta  and Paolo Maldini became the strongest defences in football history , along with Marcel Desially and Roberto Donadoni in midfield and Dejan Savićević, Zvonimir Boban and Daniele Massaro in attack.

Their winning history goes on with three Scudetti from 1992 to 1994 . Milan olso was part of Champions League final in three consecutive years . In 1993 they lost against Marseille ,1994 destroyed Barcelona 4-0 and in 1995 , Milan fell to Ajax , but they lost in the Intercontinental Cup.

In 1995 -96 Milan won 15^th Italian championship with Capello’s primary line-up: Sebastiano Rossi; Christian Panucci, Alessandro Costacurta, Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini; Roberto Donadoni, Demetrio Albertini, Marcel Desailly; Zvonimir Boban; George Weah, Roberto Baggio.

1980 -1990

In 1980-81 , Milan won the Serie B Championship, returning to Serie A ,where would suffer again and will be relegated once again .

After having some financial troubles had caused poor time and performances on the pitch , on 20 February 1986 Silvio Berlusconi bought A.C. Milan. He brought Arrigo Sacci as coach for Milan ,and three Dutch players , Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and Ruug Gullit , in attempt to return the team to glory.                                                                                                                                

Sacci and Milan won the 1988-89 Scudetto. The next season in 1988-89 won the third European Cup after beating Staua Bucuresti 4-0 and the second Intercontinental Cup against National de Medellin , after scoring in the last minute of extra time .

1960-1979

1960-1979

In 1961-62 , Milan won a Football league under magager Nereo Rocco. The team included a young Gianni Rivera and José Altafini. The next season , Milan won their first European Cup ( known as UEFA Champion League today ) by winning against Benfica 2-1 . This was the first time that an Italian team won the European Cup. The next Scudetto of Milan was in 1967-68 through the offense output of Pierino Prati , the seria A’s top-scorer that season . The next season Milan won its second European Cup . They won 4-1 against AFC Ajax in the final match .In 1969 A.C. Milan won its first Intercontinental Cup.

In the 1970s, they won three Italian Cups and its second Cup Winners Cup durind the 1972-73 season. The real goal of the Rossoeri was the tenth Scudetto , where they took the first star to the team . Milan took the first star in 1978-79 ,when they won the tenth Scudetto  ,primarily being leg by Gianni Rivera , who retired from football after this triumph.

The worst moment for Milan came after the 1979-80 season, Milan was relegated to Seria B by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) , together with Lazio , due to a betting scandal . 

The history of AC milan

1899-1959

AC Milan is build up in 1899 by Alfred Edwards and Herbert Klipin . Edwards was the club’s first president . The official colours are red and black . The first trophy was the Medaglia del RE in January 1900 , than they won three national leagues , in 1901,1906 and 1907 . Ac Milan won the Federal Cup , a national trophy . In 1919 ,the team changed the name to Milan Football Club. But in 1939 , the fascist regime imposed a new Italianized name , Associazione Calcio Milano , for the team .

 

AC Milan won the Scudetto in 1951 . In the team was the famous Gre-No-Li (Gunnar Gren, Gunnar Nordahl, Nils Liedholm) . The team olso fielded quality players such as Lorenzo Buffon , Cesare Maldini and Carlo Annovazzi .

The biggest win of that period was the 7-1 defeat of Juventus in Turin on 5 February 1950 , with the hat-trick of Gunnar Nordahl.

After the Scudetto , Milan won Three serie A seasons , in 1955,1957 and 1959 ,and two Latin Cups ,in 1951 and 1956 .
