CM: Leonardo (1997-03) [124 Appearances]

Leonardo joined AC Milan and played as CM. When he joined in 1997 he started playing even as a LM and RW. His vision made him a key player that helped a lot the team to win the 1998-1999 Scudetto . He became a central part of attack scoring 12 goals that season .

CM: Emerson (2007-09) [40 Appearances]

Emerson played for Milan for two seasons as a CM. Despite , his short stay he played and won the Fifa Club World Cup 2007.

RAM: Rivaldo (2002-04) [40 Appearances]

When Rivaldo came to Milan , he had the best time of his career with his explosive impact. He had a three year contract with Milan ,but he played only the 2002-2003 season and won the League and the cup.

CAM: Kaka (2003-09, 2013-14) [307 Appearances]

Kaka was Milan’s treasure . He was very good in the attack role and after being a top player at Milan he was awarded with the Ballon d’OR . Kaka speed, balance and strength allowed him to glide through the opposition and score wonders like his famous goal against Manchester United in 2007. He scored 104 goals and 74 assists .

LAM: Ronaldinho (2008-11) [95 Appearances]

Ronaldinho played with AC Milan for about 2 and a half seasons . The first season was disappointing but scoring against inter brought excitement and won the derby. The second season he played as a LW and demonstrated his fan and style . He scored 26 goals and 28 assists and helped Milan to the 2010-11 Scudetto .

ST: Alexandre Pato (2007-13) [150 Appearances]

Pato was a star with Milan , an important secondary striker supported from Inzaghi, Ibrahimovic and Borriello. His speed and finishing made him a very powerfull young talent .Pato was able to play as a ST, LW and LR. Pato was a victim of an injurie and did not rich his fully potential. He scored the fastest goal against Barcelona (24 seconds)

GK: Dida (2000-10) [302 Appearances]

Dida was a goalkeeper for Milan and with with his skills he delivered some of the biggest triumph for AC Milan . He was a leader on and off the pitch and had great skills on reflex . With his good performances menaged to keep Abbiati at bay for a long time

RB: Cafu (2003-08) [166 Appearances]

Cafu joined Milan afer showing his skills in defending area with AS Roma and Brazil, winning the Scudetto , Copa America and World Cup. His physical fitness allowed him to play with Milan at the age of 33 . His role was RB. Milan won the Scudetto 2003-2004.

CB: Alex (2014-16) [48 Appearances]

Alex joined Milan when they where having serious problems at the defending area and replaced Mexes. He played for two seasons with Milan. His role was a CB . Alex will be remembered for his monstrous performance against Inter in 2016 where he scored the first goal and Milan won 3-0.

CB: Thiago Silva (2009-12) [119 Appearances]

Thiago Silva is considered as one of the best diffenders in the world at the time he played at Milan. He wa considered as a top defender by Maldini, Nesta, Gattuso and Seedorf who were his teammates. His style of defending is as close as the Baresi style of defence .

LB: Serginho (1999-08) [281 Appearances]

Serginho in one of the longest serving player at Milan that played only with Milan in Europe. He was a very hard working player. His style of playing made him a key player at Milan . His roles were Lb , LM, LW

Carlo Ancelotti as a player

Carlo Ancelotti played for Milan for 5 years (1987-1992). He was a top player at AC Milan and he was also the key of the Seria A tittle in 1988, two European Super Cups, Intercontinental cups and Supercoppa Italiana . Milan ,in that decade, had the best team of all the time under the club president Silvio Berlusconi. The team was : Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi, Mauro Tassotti, Alessandro Costacurta, Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkaard, Roberto donadoni and Marco van Ba

sten.

The next season ,Ancelotti won a second scudetti under the menager, Fabio Capello. At that season the team won the undefeated title. At the and of the season, age 33 he retired. The last match he played was against Hellas Verona 17 Ma 1992, which he came as a substitution 20 minutes before the game finished and scored two goals. AC Milan won that game 4-0 as Sansiro stadium .

AC Milan ,Li and Elliot

After winning the Scudetto , the team performance was low . the team failed to qualify in European competitions for a few years . Finivest, the holding company signed a preliminary agreement with Bee Teachubol to sell 48% for 480 milion euro in 2015 , after a negative budget of 91.3 milion euro in 2014 financial year and subsequent financial contribution from Fininvest. The deal collapsed. After that , a new prelimentary agreement was signed Chinesse company , which Fininvest sold 99.93% of Milan for 520 milion euro , plus 220 milion euro of financial debt . on 13 April 2017 , the Chinesse company completed dhe deal and Sport Investiment Lux became the new direct parent company of AC Milan . To complete the deal ,an American fund Elliott gave a loan to Mister Le of 303 milion euro . Li failed to repay the loan to Elliot and this fond Elliot became the owner of AC Milan .

Calcopoli Scandal

During this period, the club was involved in the Calciopoli scandal. In this scandal were accused five teams of selecting favourable referees to fix the matches . There was an investigation from the police of Milan menagers, and the team was excluded from this scandal. However , the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) decided that it had enough evidence to charge Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani . Ac Milan was punished with a reduce of 15 points  and was banned from the 2006-2007 UEFA Champions League. After reconsidering this punishmend the penalty reduced to eight points and the team returned to Champions League participation .

After these 5 teams get punished , local rivals Internazionale takes advantage and dominated Seria A, winning for the fourth time the Scudetto . However, after signing with top players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho and Alexandro Pato , il Milan won the Scudetto again in the 2010-2011 season.

Carlo Ancelotti

Milan succeded again with with another top player, Carlo Ancelotti. Ancelotti took the lead of Ac Milan to the 2003 Champions League final, where the won against Juventus on penalties . They won the club’s sixth Europian Cup. In 2003-2004 ,the team won the Scudetto and the next year ,in 2005, they reached the 2005 Champions League final, where they were defeated by Liverpool on penalties . In the first half they were leading 3-0 , but in the second half , all went wrong . After two years , in 2007, Milan faces again Liverpool and took the revenge by winning the game 2-1 , where they won again the Champions League for the seventh time . In December 2007 , the team won for the first time Fifa Club World Cup. Ancelotti was the menager for 420 matches . After doing great things with Milan , Ancelotti leaves the club and became the menager of Chelsea.

1996-1998

There were the years 1996 – 97 after Fabio Capello left the squad Ac Milan recruits the Uruguayan coach Oscar Tabarez. This move did not bring the results that were hoped for the club as the results were poor and they lost their first matches. To get back to the old glory days the club reassumed the favourite coach of President Berlusconi, Arrigo Sacchi as the club manager and coach. This resulted in the worst defeat game in the Seria A, a 1 – 6 defeat against Juventus in San Siro. To recover from the nightmare they were living Ac Milan than signed new players like: Ibrahim Ba, Christophe Dugarry and Edgar Davids. This did not bring any good as they finished in 11th place in Seria A. In 1997 – 98 Arrigo Sacchi was replaced by the return of Fabio Capello, whose team signed a lot of potentially star players as: Christian Ziege, Patrick Kluivert, Jesper Blomqvist and the Brazilian Leonardo. Even so Milan finished 10th in Seria A leading to Fabio Capello departure.
